NYSC Batch A Stream 1 registration opened on April 7th and as expected Nigerian graduates rushed the portal like it was JAMB all over again.
Some stayed up till midnight, some battled with café attendants, others fought network demons all in the name of registering early.
But guess what? After all the hustle, many woke up the next day to discover they had been “gracefully” moved to Stream 2. Yes, Stream 2, like say na promo NYSC dey do.
First to register but last to serve?
You’d think registering early would secure you a solid spot in Stream 1, right? Wrong. Some people literally launched the portal at midnight and still ended up in Stream 2.
One person reportedly spent over 11 hours trying to register, only to be rewarded with a virtual slap in the face.
So now we’re wondering who exactly is in Stream 1?
Stream two everywhere
It’s gotten so bad that Stream 2 is beginning to look like a community. If everyone is in Stream 2, then who exactly made it to Stream 1?
Rumours are even flying around that someone checked their portal and got moved to 2026. As in, not even next stream, not next batch next year.
Na only NYSC fit pull this kind stunt and still expect you to serve with joy.
What is really going on?
According to a circulating update, NYSC allegedly said that Stream 1 is full, and that fresh registrations are now being automatically pushed to Stream 2.
But even at that, shouldn’t people who registered on time be prioritized?
Instead, it feels like NYSC just picked names at random, like they were drawing raffle tickets at a church bazaar.
Mentally drained but physically ready
The emotional damage is real. Some PCMs are already saying Nigeria is draining them mentally and who can blame them?
You plan your life around NYSC, prepare everything, then bam, you’re told to wait for another stream or even another year.
People are asking, “What is Stream 2 sef?” and honestly, that’s a valid question. Sometimes NYSC acts like a mystery show with no explanation, no plot, and plenty of confusion.
In conclusion
At the end of the day, what can we do? If your portal says Stream 2, just accept it and move on. Rant if you must, but don’t lose your mind over it.
Just remember, it’s not about how fast you register, it’s about where NYSC decides push you to. Stream 1, Stream 2, or hmmm I don’t know.
